Newland Park Kindergarten is a Department of Education and Child Development Kindergarten located in Erindale (adjacent to Burnside).
We provide a welcoming, caring environment with children and families as our central focus. Children are given opportunities to learn through play and reach their individual potential. Experiences are developmentally appropriate and provide concrete, active learning.
Our grounds have been developed to give children areas to explore. We encourage the children to care for their environment by being part of its development and ongoing care. Our beautiful natural environment which allows children space to play and explore the environment. Tall gum trees play host to many birds and koalas.
Inside offers space to be creative in our art areas, places for small group activities, quiet solitary places and plenty of rich learning.
We Love Nature!
Thank you to one of our parents, Victoria for our new logo design. The inspiration came from a photo of our Frilled neck lizard - Rock and Roll. When he lost his skin a perfect love heart shape appeared on his head. This image was used to reflect our centre philosophy.

A day at Kindergarten
Children are given opportunities to make choices and direct their learning. We give time for children to play inside and out. Children choose activities and learning experiences based on the National Curriculum - Belonging, Being and Becoming.
Children have input into the curriculum through their prior knowledge and interests. Staff plan weekly to incorporate children’s learning styles, strengths and abilities.
Children are also involved in more formal group times. Children assign their own tasks such as feeding the animals, composting, tending the worm farm, watering vegetables etc. Other group times are rich in literacy, numeracy, music and movement activities.
